Sales associate position

We currently have a wonderful opportunity for an entry level Sales Associate that will be responsible for initiating and developing sales prospecting plans, building a pipeline of new and current contacts in order to generate more sales.  Ultimately responsible for building, sustaining, and effectively maintaining the pipeline for use by you, and the sales staff in the sales department. 

A successful candidate will be well organized and disciplined with good time management skills.  Must be able to manage a large workload in a fast-paced environment.  Experience working under pressure with minimum supervision while demonstrating the ability to follow through on commitments.

Job Duties:

  • Analyze business data which would assist you in finding prospects.
  • Proactively communicate with customers through inbound/outbound telephone calls, email, facsimiles, and through onsite visits when needed.  Communicate any interest in specific products to the Sales Manager who will follow up with a telephone call.  Rate each interested prospect, track success rate. 
  • Assist in planning marketing campaigns.   
  • Listen attentively and respond timely and effectively to pricing and product information requests.   Respond to all other common inquiries or concerns. 
  • Stay abreast of upgrades, maintenance releases, changes, new product launches, the competition, and these effects upon our product's value to the market. 
  • Use customer relationship management tools to track and maintain an accurate record of prospects relating to your pipeline, including sales potential, and advise and update the Sales Manager on your customers' activities through use of this system.
  • Meet or exceed assigned team or individual sales goals and objectives. 
  • Communicate effectively with individuals inside and outside the company while leveraging resources across the company. 
  • Understand the philosophies, policies and procedures, programs and product offerings of the company.  Initiate ideas, develop recommendations, and inform management of suggestions to improve department systems. 
  • Offer webinars when necessary and appropriate.  

 Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years proven sales experience and success, preferably in a high-tech, computer software, or the Knowledge Management industry, is required.  Inside sales experience okay. Experience in business development in a sales environment is very helpful. 
  • A Bachelor Degree or some college coursework in business administration, accounting, or marketing is preferred.  A thorough knowledge of either Archives, Library or Records Management  principles as related to KM software is strongly desired. 
  • Must have a high degree of accuracy and detail to numbers. 
  • Hands on word-processing, spreadsheet, and Outlook experience are important.
