Vancouver, BC, January 29, 2007 – Eloquent Application Suite 4.1.0 has been in use since December 2006 by several Eloquent customers with applications hosted on the Eloquent servers and is now available for download by all other customers. Some features apply to the entire suite while others are application specific:
All Applications in the Suite:
Microsoft Excel exports are now available in all applications.
New "Content" field allows PDFs, Word documents, and other files to be indexed for searching, providing full-text search of the entire document. A display of the resulting document will have the search words highlighted.
Synonyms that are applied to each table are now customizable and are not lost during an update.
Name authorities may now have an attached image.
Name authorities now have improved help text, taken from the ISAAR(CPF) standard.
Organization name is now included in form e-mails.
All exports (except from the EAD and HTML Publisher) and now sent back to the user via e-mail.
There are new batch entry screen for thesauri.
Comments now appear on patron detail displays.
Expanded integration with Google Maps. Searches can be designed to present the results as points on the map. A click on the location will display detail about items related to it.
Eloquent Archives:
All features mentioned above.
Circulation of borrowed archival material Archives can be managed like a library.
Import of archival descriptions option is now also available on the Administrator menu.
Location information is now available on the detail display.
New advanced search options are available for the public user.
New entry screens for DACS and RAD are available in addition to the ISAD(G). Each has the prompt-specific help based on the descriptive standard.
Published EAD documents now pull default values out of your system unless otherwise specified. The process takes only a few clicks of the mouse. No knowledge of EAD encoding is required.
Indexes are optimized for better response time performance.
Eloquent Librarian:
All the features listed above for the entire Suite.
New global changes are provided for approving/disapproving titles for public access.
Copy status is now applied properly when automatically creating volumes and issues using the Serials module.
The method for entering URLs into the website field is improved.
Eloquent Museum:
All the features listed above for the entire Suite.
There is improved help text for artifact entry.
You can now capture transcribed text for oral history.
Eloquent Records:
All the features listed above for the entire Suite.
Circulation of borrowed folders, boxes, and items can be managed like a library.
There is a new destruction notification report.
Boxes can now calculate start/end dates based on the folders inside it.
