Eloquent's Version 5 featured at ACA in Toronto

Eloquent Systems will exhibit Web 2.0, social media, Google Maps and iPad technology at the June 2011 Conference of the Association of Canadian Archivists (ACA) in Toronto.

Vancouver, BC – May 27, 2011 – Eloquent Systems will introduce WebGENCAT™ 5 at the Association of Canadian Archivists' 2011 Conference in Toronto on June 2nd & 3rd. The WebGENCAT search engine is used in Eloquent Archives™ and all other applications in the Eloquent WebSuite™. The following features of Eloquent Archives will be exhibited at Eloquent Booth #10:

  • Social Media
The software is integrated with Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook so researchers can easily share what they find, promoting your digital content and descriptions.
  • Public Contributions
Researchers can also contribute to your database with a comment feature that is standard with the software – either Google or Facebook. They contribute their knowledge and/or opinion about specific photographs or descriptive records.
  • Member Privileges
Researchers can register themselves and get special privileges such as entering requests for material directly into the database and getting a wealth of reports and other output for the items in their saved list.
  • iPad for research and more
Tablets such as iPad can be used anywhere in the world to access your database. You can also use them for a number of in-house functions such as locating items in the warehouse.
  • Google Translate
You can translate the detail display page to any written language using the Google Translate link on the page. This feature is not to be confused with the ability to offer the database in any number of languages, including all user interfaces and search words, using the Multi-lingual module.
  • Google Maps
Researchers get a map identifying the type of geographic locations they select from your archives. Locations are grouped into categories such as churches, schools, parks, or whatever is relevant to your database. You easily navigate from the map to descriptive material and pictures about the location.
  • Google Analytics
Valuable statistics highlight the most viewed material in your database: the collections, the pictures, the individual pages and the keywords being used. You monitor the effectiveness of promotional campaigns and know what material is worth describing in greater detail.
  • Digital Content
Special semi-automated routines quickly move your pictures, PDFs, and all other types of digital objects into the database from shared and local drives. Special interfaces are available for SharePoint and MS Office applications.

If you are at the ACA conference, visit us in Booth #10. Otherwise, register for a webinar and software demo by contacting Lawrence Boscoe at 800-663-8172/100. A Sample Database is also available for hands-on experience.
