This is a conceptual diagram of the Eloquent Knowledge Management Suite. The major components include the following: Internet/Intranet Users belong to user groups that may be given a global view of the knowledge base or a view of a single application: librarian, archives, or records. WebGENCAT Server processes the messages from any number of users, managing the appropriate language interface and access restrictions. A search for information may cross all three applications or be restricted to only one. Common Business Rules & Controlled Vocabulary are used by all applications in the suite to ensure a uniform vocabulary and similar workflow procedures for the entire system. Metadata (Descriptive Data) contains all the data fields required for describing items in each of the applications in the database and comply with international standards. Workflow Transaction are maintained for all process activity related to use of the knowledge resources and maintaining them. They are used for administrative and statistical purposes. Digital Content represents all electronic records and digital content linked to the metadata for presentation to the user. External Links - Websites containing information relevant to the organization are cataloged like other knowledge resources and linked to the metadata. Email Integration - Email is integrated with the metadata and transactions for automatic communication with suppliers and clients. |
