  Eloquent Librarian™
Librarian Modules
The base Eloquent Librarian system includes cataloging functions and public access (OPAC) functions. The following modules can be added as your requirements evolve: Circulation, Fines, Booking, Serials, Acquisitions, MARC Import, Content Management.

CIRCULATION MODULE
  • Copy records are easily created various ways:
    • Manually enter the record for new copies linking to the title or creating it on-the-fly
    • Use the cloning feature to quickly create multiple copies for the same title.
    • Enter the quantity of new copies in the title record and send them to a batch process that automatically creates all the copy records. Single-copy titles are automatic.
    • Spine labels and barcode labels are easily processed with PDF files processed with Acrobat anywhere on the Internet.
  • Variable loan periods are easy to maintain:
    • Copies are coded for various loan periods;
    • Patrons are coded for various loan periods;
    • A loan grid based on copy and patron loan codes control automatic creation of loan period during the check out of an item;
    • Closed days are avoided for automatically calculated due days.
  • Non-barcoded items such as journal issues may be circulated
    • Overdue notice still includes issue details
  • Requests can be made by patrons/clients
    • Become holds if available, otherwise reserves
    • Reserve automatically goes on hold when item returned
  • Public search shows availability of copies
    • "In" if any copy is available
    • Due date if currently out
  • Serials module provides option for issue detail
    • Availability of any issue
    • Reserve by specific issue
  • Physical inventory is easily performed without closing the library
    • Scanning of barcodes directly or with a portable barcode reader
    • Reports of all lost items
    • Automatic return of found items
  • Statistics of usage is automatically logged
    • YTD and lifetime use by patron
    • YTD and lifetime use by copy
    • Advanced search into circulation transaction for various statistics
  • Various check-out options available:
    • Fast barcode scanning
    • With verification of items and due dates
    • With traps and display of various exception messages
    • Display of patron details including all item out and personal picture and signature with option to print

FINES
  • Rate of fines can vary with type of material and patron

BOOKING MODULE

CONTENT MANAGEMENT

  • Store digital images in any format (.gif, .jpeg, etc.)
  • Store digital documents in formats such as Word, PDF or Excel
  • Index the keywords in your digital documents to expand search results
  • Highlight entered search terms in PDFs when they are returned as search results

In addition to the above application-specific modules, the WebGENCAT platform may be enhanced with modules to increase the number of users permitted, to add more processing power for large systems, to add multilingual capability and to segregate portions of the data into specific branches/departments.
